What the alpha form keeps, and why
This covers the "Apply for the alpha" form on this site, the only place the site asks for anything about you. Last updated 20 October 2026.
Who we are
Virtuverse makes VIDA and is the controller of what you send through the form. To ask anything about it, or to use any of the rights below, write to privacy@virtuverse.io.
What we keep
- Your email address. It is how we find your record, so applying again updates it rather than adding another.
- What you chose to tell us: team size, role, the models you would use, how you would run VIDA, and your note.
- That you ticked the consent box, when, and which wording it had (version
alpha-contact-v1): "I agree that Virtuverse may store my email and the answers above to contact me about the VIDA alpha, and for nothing else. I can ask for them to be deleted at any time." - When you first applied and when you last did.
We do not keep your IP address, set cookies for the form, or track you around the site. To slow down abuse, the form's endpoint counts requests from each network address for a few minutes, in memory only; that count is never written down.
Why
Only to contact you about the VIDA alpha: whether there is a place, and what you need to take it up. Not for a newsletter, not for other products, and it is never sold or shared for anyone else's use. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time; that does not affect what was done before.
Where it is kept
In a database run for us by our cloud hosting provider, in the EU (Ireland), encrypted at rest. The provider processes it on our behalf under a data processing agreement and does not use it for anything of its own.
How long
Up to a year after you last applied, then it is deleted automatically, or sooner if you ask. Deleted records remain in our encrypted backups for up to 35 days before they are gone for good.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you and get a copy, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict how we use it, or to object, and you can withdraw your consent. Write to the address above from the email you applied with; we answer within a month. If you are unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) or the data protection authority where you live.
